Dexter’s Kin is a New York City based Alternative/Rock/Pop solo act band formed by Paul Benedict in late 2008.

Dexter’s Kin’s sound is a mixture of Paul’s varied musical influences, which run the gamut from The Beatles to Muse. Armed with a piano and a collection of written songs, and taking inpiration from the more familiar sounds of rock and roll’s past — combined with contemporary melodic riffs and his own soulful vocals — Paul Benedict worked with Assaf Spector, Blue Jay Way Music Producer, towards finally christening the project, named in memoriam of Paul’s late brother.

The self-released EP debut (July 2009), Metamorphose, has garnered International attention and positive reviews from music lovers such as Pelle Moeld of SR RADIO, who states in his P3LAB radio show: “A hit song can hide where you least expect it. In this case I found one in New York native Paul’s solo project Dexter’s Kin, on a website for unsigned music and I fell head over heels by his song ‘Stay’.”

The single “Spill Out The Lies”, has found immediate response from avid listeners through the Internet. Both “Spill Out The Lies” and “Stay”, will soon be promoted through the national college radio network, alongside efforts to promote the band on the road: plans for a mini-tour are currently in the works, following enthusiastic requests from booking agents.

Dexter’s Kin is optimistically receptive of the uncertain, yet exciting opportunities of today’s market, and hopeful to find a spotlight amidst the swarm of today’s talented artists. Paul is ready, as he sings in “Alana”, to “take all the chances to be what I hope to be.”

The Self-Titled debut album, Dexter’s Kin, will be officially released in Spring 2010.
